Little Sebago Lake - Cool wet conditions were the norm most of the year but that didn't stop these young anglers from finding fish at the final club tournament on Little Sebago Lake, Oct 3.
In the 10 & under Division, rookie angler Kobe Pillsbury weighed in 1.79 lbs of bass to finish in first place followed by Travis LePage's 1.52 lb bass.
The Semi-Pro Division saw Kaitlyn Deering catch the lunker smallmouth 2.22, and lunker largemouth 4.58, for a total 5 bass weight of 10.91. Kaitlyn also won her first Angler of the Year title, nice job Kaitlyn!
The Pro Division went to Shawn Breton with 4 bass weighing 8.33, his big largemouth tipped the scales at 4.12 lbs. Nick Deering, who did not fish today escaped the last tournament push by Shawn to capture his 3rd club Angler of the Year tiltle, nice job! Other weights from Little Sebago; Semi Pro Division; 2nd Brenden Wood 3.41, 3rd Nathan Smith 3.66, 4th Brian Volkernick 1.46, Pro Division; 2nd Cam Mullen 4.27. Nice job fishing by all members this year and a thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors.
The L/A Junior Bassmasters want to thank all those who supported our first open event that had a special twist to it, an Adult/Youth Division to go along with the Adult Division. The kids running the show did an excellent job with their weigh in task and were thanked by the competitors for it. Members from Androscoggin Bassmasters were on hand as well to guide the youth group if needed. Thanks to all the competitors who competed in one or both of the divisions! Plans are in the works for next years event to be held on a lake that is yet to be determined.

In the 10 & under Division, Kobe Pillsbury weighed in 1.10 lbs of bass to finish in first place. the Semi-Pro Division saw Brian Volkernick seal the victory in that group by netting both lunker smallmouth 3.05, and lunker largemouth 3.68, for a total 5 bass weigh of 10.71. The Pro Division went to Nick Deering with 5 bass weighing 11.56, his big smallmouth and largemouth tipped the scales at 2.49 and 3.07 respectively.

LAKE SIMCOE, ONT July 24, 2009 Congrats to Nick Deering for giving it his all and placing 5th at the Junior Eastern Divisional. Nick is a 3 time Junior World Championship Qualifier. Results
Curtis Robinson and Brian Volkernick captured first place in their divisions at the clubs Auburn Lake tournament held in the evening on July 10. Fishing was tough for the anglers with only 10 bass being weighed in amongst the 9 anglers that competed. Most of the bass were caught on crankbaits, and tubes in 5-16' of water.
Final weights were: Semi Pro Division, Brian Volkernick 5.25, Nathan Smith 2.28. Pro Division, Curtis Robinson 8.00, Cam Mullen 1.00. Largest smallmouth bass went to Curtis Robinson 2.37, Largest largemouth went to Brian Volkernick 3.37.
Junior anglers, Kaitlyn Deering and Shawn Breton took honors at the first L/A Junior Bassmasters club tournament on Androscoggin Lake in Wayne on May 16. Most of the bass were in the pre-spawn and spawn phase and were caught around rocks, gravel banks and inside weedlines in 60 degree water.
Other top weights include: Junior Division, Travis LePage 6.63, Kobe Pillsbury 1.50.
Semi-Pro Division, Kaitlyn Deering 13.12, Brian Volkernick 9.49, Brenden Wood 1.81, Zack Mittelstadt 1.31.
Pro Division, Shawn Breton 15.22, Nick Deering 13.51, Jack Peters 10.08, Curtis Robinson 5.13.
Big fish for the day went to Nick Deering 4.88 largemouth, and Shawn Breton 2.81 smallmouth. All bass were caught measured and released alive.
October 4, 2008 - Nick Deering of the 15-18 division will advance to the Junior Bassmaster Eastern Divisional Championship to be held in Ontario, Canada in July 2009.
Nick caught his three bass on laydown trees and shallow grass beds. Two of his fish fell to Rapala Slash Baits and one fell to a spinnerbait. Nick won with just over 8.02 lbs. Also advancing is Alex Williamson who caught 4 fish for a total of just over 6.21 lbs, all on spinnerbaits. Congratulations to both these anglers and we wish them well in Ontario!
Remaining weights in the 11-14 division were: 2nd Brian Volkernick 3.66, lunker LM 2.80, 3rd Kyle Tourtelatte 2.62, Brenden Wood, Kaitlyn Deering, Hunter Beyea all did not weigh.
In the 15-18 the final weights were: 2nd Nathan King 5.62, 3rd Collin Hart 5.33, 4th Corey Hart 4.53, 5th Curtis Robinson 3.59, 6th Shawn Breton 3.30, Lunker LM 3.30, 8th Truman Salo 3.12.
